Corrections policy

If something we published is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. No charge, no argument, no matter who you are.

How to report an error

Email info@eyetoad.com with the release URL and what is incorrect. If you can point to a source, it speeds things up, but it is not required to get a response.

Anyone may report an error. You do not need to be the customer, the subject of the release, or a paying anything.

What we do

  • We acknowledge within one business day.
  • We check against the source material the customer supplied.
  • We correct factual errors on the canonical release, in the claims file, in the markdown mirror and in the structured data.
  • We note it with a dated correction line on the release itself, so the record shows what changed and when.
  • We update the modified date so systems that track freshness see the change.
  • We tell you what we could reach and what we could not.

What we can and cannot reach

We control the canonical release, our feeds, our news property, our directory and our podcast feed. Corrections propagate there.

We do not control third parties who ingested a feed, search engine caches, or any AI system that has already read the page. We will tell you plainly which is which rather than implying a correction reaches everywhere.

Removals

A customer may ask us to unpublish their own release from our properties and we will do it promptly. We will not remove a correction notice, and we will not remove a release in order to conceal a corrected error.

Disputes about a claim

If you are the subject of a claim in a release and you believe it is false, tell us. We will contact the customer, ask for substantiation, and where it is not provided we will amend or unpublish. We do not need a legal threat to take a factual dispute seriously.
